ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The Parkway School District board approved $4 million in budget cuts for the 2013-2014 school year.

The approved proposal does not cut any traditional classroom teachers. Forty positions will but cut and they include administrators and district level support staff in departments like human resources, communication, facilities, and transportation.

The plan is to eliminate those positions through attrition.

The rest of the $4 million will be cut by trimming things like the length of elementary summer school and 6th grade outdoor camp as well as sending bus stop notices via email instead of paper notices through USPS.

The district insists your child will not feel the cuts.

"I don't think you're goning to feel it next year. We cut almost $8 million last year and we did that very successfully the same way. But we have to do this now, if we wait a few years and don't make the cuts we'd have to make deeper cuts," said Communications Director, Paul Tandy.
