Lockdown lifted at four St. Louis County schools

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Four schools were temporarily on lockdown following a car crash Thursday morning.

St. Louis County police spokesperson Randy Vaughn said a gold SUV crashed into a house in the 3800 block of Tipton in Woodson Terrace.  Five men jumped out and ran.

Police took four people into custody.

Ritenour schools spokesperson said the Early Childhood Center, Ritenour High, Kratz Elementary and Marvin Elementary were place on an external lockdown from noon to 1:15 p.m.  An external lockdown means that kids were not allowed outside for recess.

The students will be dismissed at their regular time.
