EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - A federal grand jury indicted an 18-year-old high school student after the discovery of bomb-making material at the teen's home.

Thomas Lee Stanton of Lebanon on Thursday was indicted on a charge of unlawful possession of a destructive device.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports the indictment alleges Stanton possessed one or more explosive devices, including a "cricket" bomb made from carbon-dioxide cartridges, fuses and explosive powder.

Stanton was arrested Wednesday at O'Fallon Township High School. Authorities say others are being detained in connection with the case. They haven't been identified.

As a precaution, the high school's Smiley Campus was locked down for more than an hour Wednesday. Authorities say a search of the school turned up no suspicious materials.

It wasn't immediately determined if Stanton has retained a lawyer.
