ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released its 2013 performance report Friday morning for school districts and charter schools, and for some formerly struggling schools, it brought encouraging news.
One of those schools was Fairview Elementary in Jennings, which was recently recognized as one of the most improved schools in the area. The students' high math scores really made the school stand out.
"Regardless of your budgets, your minority rates, your free and reduced, your economic status, every child can succeed, every child can perform in the classroom at high levels," Fairview Elementary Principal Chanua Ross said.
Jennings School District had significant academic program overall, earning 12 additional accreditation points - the district's biggest gain in years.
