KSDK -- Friday night is the last graduation for Eskridge High School.
There will be 30 graduates in this last class. As of July 1, the Wellston School District will cease to exist; most of its students will transfer to Normandy schools.
The district was founded in the early 1900s, near the turn of the 20th century; its alumni include St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley.
Eskridge will remain open through next week, but this was the last day for seniors and some of their teachers. Low test scores, bad infrastructure and low enrollment, fewer than 600 students, forced the district's closure.
Many students and teachers NewsChannel 5 spoke said they'll leave with some fond memories.
