St. Louis (KSDK) - Medics at Fair St. Louis say lots of people are overheating while enjoying the festivities.

Mark Levine, medical director for the St. Louis Fire Department, says medical tents were very busy on Wednesday and could be again over the weekend.

"On the Fourth (of July) we saw a large number of people that just got overheated, didn't drink enough fluids and just needed a place to cool off," said Levine. "But overall it's been a safe fair."

With triple-digit temperatures expected again on Saturday, Levine urges everyone to drink lots of non-cafeinated and non-alcoholic fluids. Also, be aware of the signs of heat exaustion which include heavy sweating, headaches and nausea.

There are three medical tents set up on the fair grounds. It's a good idea to identify them as you enter the fair so you'll know where to head if you get in trouble.
