ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Plans for the new Shriners Hospital for Children were unveiled Wednesday.
The $47 million replacement hospital will be located on the campus of Washington University School of Medicine.
The joint board of directors and trustees for Shriners Hospitals for Children approved a 90,000 square foot replacement facility in November 2012 that will sit on 3.75 acres purchased from Washington University.
Shriners has had a long-standing partnership with Washington University, and this move is expected to enhance collaboration between the two institutions.
Plans for the new hospital include 12 inpatients beds, three surgical suites, and 18 clinical examination rooms.
The new hospital is on a 20-month construction schedule.
