RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KSDK) - A healthy set of quadruplets were born last week at SSM St. Mary's Health Center.

According to St. Mary's Medical Director Dr. Mohamad Al-Hosni, preparations for the quadruplet's arrival began more than nine weeks ago, along with a neonatal caretaker for each baby being on-call 24 hours a day.

St. Mary's and the parents teamed up throughout those weeks by rehearsing every possible scenario and timeframe to avoid any surprises as well as ensuring the babies' healthy debut. St. Mary's Medical Director for Labor and Delivery, Dr. Gilad Gross, led the babies' obstetrical team of three physicians and five nurses in the delivery room.

The parents, Aroloye and Salome Numbere of St. Louis, couldn't be more proud to welcome their first children in to the world. Their two boys and two girls were born ranging in size from 2 pounds, 6 ounces to 3 pounds, 12 ounces. The youngsters are doing well in St. Mary's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Dr. Al-Hosni estimates that the quadruplets will have to wait around 6 weeks until they are able to go home for the first time and take on the World.

This is the fourth set of quadruplets delivered at SSM St. Mary's Health Center since 2006.
