CINCINNATI, Ohio (WLWT) - A Cincinnati hospital is providing a way for young patients to reunite with their four-legged friends while receiving care.
Cincinnati Children's Hospital now provides a space for patients to visit with their pets while receiving treatment.
"To me, this is a dream come true. This dream started when I was 9 years old," patient Jessica Elam said.
Elam was diagnosed with ependymoma, a rare form of cancer when she was 7 years old. She's since had eight relapses.
Fighting cancer has been tough and she missed her dog while receiving treatment, Elam said.
But thanks to her efforts, other patients won't have to go through the same thing Elam did.
