EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A student at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville who authorities say threatened a Virginia Tech-like rampage wants his bond lowered.
Olutosin Oduwole is jailed on $1 million bond on a charge that accuses him of attempting to make a terrorist threat.
Authorities contend they found a note in his car threatening a rampage similar to the one at Virginia Tech in April if he wasn't paid $5,000.
In a motion for a bond reduction, Oduwole said he can reside in the St. Louis area with his mother or brother and is no risk of fleeing.
Oduwole has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for another court appearance Friday in Edwardsville.
