JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- Lawyers for a man accused of fatally shooting his wife and children say they are waiting for reports from a state police crime scene investigator.
Christopher Vaughn appeared briefly Tuesday in a Will County courtroom.
One of his attorneys, Gerald Kielian, told the judge he hasn't yet gotten investigative reports compiled by an Illinois State Police officer.
The 34-year-old Vaughn has pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his wife, Kimberly, and the couple's three young children. Authorities found their bodies June 14 in the family's sport utility vehicle parked on a frontage road about 40 miles southwest of Chicago.
Vaughn and his family were St. Charles County natives.
He is scheduled to return to court on April 7.
