KIRKSVILLE (AP) -- Several roads in northern Missouri have been closed because of flash flooding.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported road closings Friday in several counties, including Mercer, Sullivan, Putnam, Adair, Lewis, Knox, Shelby, Grundy, Gentry, Harrison and Caldwell counties.

Officials said no damage or injuries were reported as heavy rain moved into the area.

The National Weather Service also issued flash flood warnings for sections of northern Missouri and northeast Kansas. And tornado warnings were issued for parts of Marion and Ralls counties in northern Missouri.
