How come in Spring it rains alot more than in any other season?
Spring is a volitile time of the year since warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico is trying to move north and push the cold, dry air out of the area. The two air masses fight for control and that results in t-storms.
Our peak severe weather months are April through June. Those storms also bring heavy rain that could produce flooding.
As the temps warm into the 80s and 90s by July, the weather settles down and severe t-storms are more typical in the northern plains.
