KSDK -- Few could soon forget the Blizzard of 1982, blanketing the St. Louis area in 13 inches of snow, the most on record for any storm since 1912.
The January 31st storm immobilized the area, stranding hundreds of people and causing countless traffic accidents.
Luckily the storm occurred on a weekend, allowing for more family fun on the sledding hills and for fewer commuters on the roads.
The storm was the third deepest on record for St. Louis. The all-time record is held by an 1890 storm that on March 30th of that year dropped a total of 20.4 inches.
