KSDK -- One man is dead and two others injured in a house fire in East Carondelet, Illinois.
Fire officials from Prairie DuPont Fire Department said the man killed is 27 years old, but have yet to provide his name.
The other two injured include an adult and a child. They are the victim's girlfriend and a toddler. It's not yet clear what the child's relationship is to the adults. The woman and child suffered smoke inhalation and are being treated at St. Anthony's.
The fire started around 8:30 a.m. possibly in the kitchen of the home. The fire marshal is not commenting on a possible cause.

The home is located in the 1100 block of State Street.
The man who died was found in the kitchen.
The coroner, Danny Haskenhoff, said he will not release the name or cause of death until an autopsy is complete. He said he plans to do the autopsy at 5 p.m.
Investigators said there are some conflicting stories about what went on the house before the fire started. They said there was apparently a party in the home last night that lasted well into the early morning hours.
Herb Simmons, the mayor of East Carondelet, said he once owned the house and his mother used to live there. He said about ten years ago, there was a fire there in the kitchen that was blamed on food left cooking.
