Our first story is about a very special camp that's making a difference in many young lives.
It's affiliated with St. Louis children's hospital and you're about to see why families travel from as far away as Pennsylvania and Texas, to attend.
Martial arts is today's activity at this sports camp.
Many of these kids have never tried these moves before.
But what's important here is to just give this and every other sport, a shot.
This is Camp Independence, a sports camp for kids with cerebral palsy.
Here they learn martial arts, play basketball, soccer, go ice skating and more!
Not only do the kids love playing these sports
But they also love the other campers.
Physical therapists and volunteers act as counselors helping each child achieve goals.
Camp independence is the name and, whether they realize is or not, learning to be independent is the idea behind all the games.
Camp Independence is looking for volunteers for their July camps!
