St. Louis (KSDK) -- NewsChannel 5 viewer Colleen Vezeau wanted to know which St. Louis attraction has the most visitors, so she posed the question to Heidi Glaus in this week's Hey Heidi! segment.

It's not that we mean to, but more times that not we take what we've got for granted.

"It's not just that we have attractions, we have world class attractions and they're free," explains Donna Andrews from the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission.

There's the Zoo, Grant's Farm, History Museum and Art Museum. I mean we live in a perfect place for an inexpensive staycation.

"Even the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, world's largest collection of mosaic art, right there," Andrews adds.

And everything I just mentioned is free. But when it comes to the spot that draws the biggest crowd year after year from well all over, we're talking about the Gateway Arch.

"People around the world identify St. Louis by the Gateway Arch. It's the tallest man-made monument in the United States and four million visitors go to the Gateway Arch every year.

"So what do you think about that arch?" I ask a three year old boy from Arkansas.

"Really huge!" he says.

Yeah, it's big, which is what makes the trek to the top questionable for some. Luckily there's stuff to do under ground which is free.

"That's the Museum of Westward Expansion which is underneath the Gateway Arch, 100 years of St. Louis' history about the size of a football field and people are usually surprised that's that all underneath the Gateway Arch," Andrews explains.

So it might be the place that four million people visit every year, but let this be a reminder that it's not a bad place to check out if you live here.
