JEFFERSON CITY, MO (AP) - The Missouri Bar is recommending voters oust a St. Louis judge this November.
Associate Circuit Judge Judy Draper is the only one of 62 judges evaluated this year not recommended to be retained on the bench. The evaluations were made by special committees of lawyers and residents.
Draper did not immediately return a telephone message left at her office Wednesday.
The biennial evaluation focuses only on judges appointed to nonpartisan positions on appeals courts or trial courts in the St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield areas.
Judge Judy Draper received poor marks from lawyers who were surveyed on whether she was competent in the law, understood court rules and procedures and consistently applied the law in her rulings.
