Ladon Grissom charged with double homicide

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- A 26-year-old local man was charged Wednesday in connection with a double murder that occurred the night before Halloween.

The murder took place October 30 at 9:50 p.m. in the 4200 block of John Avenue in North St. Louis City.

First responders declared both shooting victims, 46-year-old Terrence Snipes and 41-year-old Demetrius Hewlett, dead at the scene. Witnesses told police the suspect, identified as Ladon T. Grissom, opened fire on the victims as they crossed the street.

Grissom was arrested on Halloween.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged Grissom with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and one count of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana.

Grissom remains incarcerated without bond.
