NBC -- Rancho Santa Fe, California  resident Julien Hug, a former contestant on "The Bachelorette" reality show, was found dead in Riverside County, California, on Wednesday.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies report Hug's body was found in a remote area around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputies said the 35-year old was originally reported missing.

Hug was the son of prominent San Diego restaurateurs Bertrand and Denise Hug who own the up-scale Mille Fleurs and Bertrand at Mister-A's. He can be seen in a YouTube video promoting the family business.

He was also a contestant on the reality show "The Bachlorette" in 2009. In the opening sequence for the season, Hug talked about his love for skydiving and was filmed driving a red sports car.

Officials say an autopsy has yet to be performed and the cause of his death is still under investigation.
