St. Louis (KSDK) - Among the Baseball Hall of Fame Stan Musial collection in Cooperstown, New York, is the original oil on canvass done by John Falter entitled, Stanley Musial.

The painting which hangs inside the Art of Baseball collection, was perhaps more famously remembered for the fan outcry it created in 1954.

Many baseball fans cried foul when the "Saturday Evening Post" cover showed southpaw Musial signing autographs with his righthand.  They could not believe an artist as renowned as Falter could make that mistake.

Falter said when Musial posed for the painting, he learned that Stan "The Man" wrote righthanded, which he correctly portrayed.
