Benton, IL (KSDK) - A 24-year-old Murphysboro, Illinois woman was sentenced Thursday in US District Court for drug distribution, US Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton said.
According to court documents, LaToya McDaniel pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
The crime took place between May 2007 and October 2009 in Jackson and Williamson counties. McDaniel admitted to being a drug runner and would routinely obtain crack cocaine for herself and others from co-conspirator Kenya Ganer. It is believed she was responsible for the distribution of approximately 266 grams of crack cocaine.
LaToya McDaniel will spend the next 120 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
Meanwhile, Ganer pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 14.
