Chesterfield, MO (KSDK) - A South St. Louis teen was killed and two people were injured following a serious accident on Olive Boulevard, resulting in long delays at a major artery in Chesterfield.
The accident occurred around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Olive and Creve Coeur Mill Road. According to police, a 2012 Infiniti SUV was driving eastbound when it crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Dodge Truck, then continued and struck a 1998 Honda Accord in a head-on collision.
The driver of the Honda Accord, Clayton Pfeiffer of South St. Louis County, died as a result of his injuries. Vianney High School posted a memorial page for Pfeiffer, a 2011 alumni, on its Web site. It can be seen by clicking here.
The driver of the Infiniti SUV, 35-year-old Dale Kawamura, and passenger 32-year-old Steven Hammer, both of Oakland, California, were rushed to the hospital. Hammer has since been released. There is no word on Kawamura's condition.
The driver of the Dodge Truck, 46-year-old Jerome Drapp of St. Louis, was not injured.
Lt. Steve Lewis with the Chesterfield Police Department said traffic was backed up to Highway 141 and Fee Fee. All of westbound Olive was closed at Creve Coeur Mill Road. Only one eastbound lane was getting by.
All lanes of Olive Boulevard were reopened by 3:45 p.m.
No further information has been released on the crash.
