Joplin, MO (KSDK) - A city devastated by tornadoes in 2011 is offering assistance to neighboring communities in Southwest Missouri that were hit by overnight tornadoes.
Joplin City Officials have reached out to their peers in neighboring communities to offer assistance following the storms Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
At least three deaths, numerous injuries and significant wind damage have been reported in Branson, Buffalo, Cassville, Lebanon and Oak Ridge.
Joplin City Manager Mark Rohr says they contacted Branson earlier today to share their willingness to help. So far, they have sent ten officers to assist the Branson Police Department, and they stand prepared to offer any other assistance to their neighbors if and when they need it.
Joplin City Officials are contacting other cities impacted by these storms as well.
