Harrisburg, IL (KSDK) - The American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region is wrapping up meal distribution in Harrisburg, Illinois.
Since the tornado that touched down on February 29, the Red Cross has coordinated 2,000 meals, 1,400 snacks, and distributed 6,500 cleanup items in Harrisburg and the nearby town of Ridgway.
The Red Cross has closed their emergency shelter, and the last meal will be served at lunchtime Saturday.
Mental health workers will continue to help residents cope with the tragedy.
Around 100 homes were destroyed in Harrisburg, and 400 sustained severe or significant damage.
