St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay presented Blues CEO Mike McCarthy and team mascot Louie with an official proclamation Thursday morning declaring Friday, April 27 to be "St. Louis Blues Day."
The Blues set a franchise record with 30 home wins en route to winning the Central Division in the regular season.
The club beat the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last week. The Blues will meet the Los Angeles Kings in round two of the playoffs beginning Saturday at Scottrade Center.

The St. Louis Blues 2011-2012 season has brought delight to fans worldwide; and
WHEREAS, I congratulate the Blues on their 30 home wins, and the second best record in franchise history; and
WHEREAS, I congratulate the Blues for their Central Division Championship title; and
WHEREAS, I congratulate the Blues for defeating the San Jose Sharks and advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals; and
WHEREAS, on behalf of the City of St. Louis, I join Blues CEO Mike McCarthy and Blues mascot Louie in asking all St. Louisans to support the Blues in wearing blue on Friday, April 27, 2012.
