Sullivan, MO (KSDK) - A 32-year-old Cuba, Missouri man suffered serious injuries to his face and torso after allegedly being beaten by several men at Arapaho Camp Ground, the Franklin County Sheriff's Department said.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke, the incident occurred Saturday, May 26. Deputies were called to Missouri Baptists Hospital in reference to an assault.

Police made contact with the victim, identified as Jeffrey Pemberton, who told them he'd gotten into an argument with several other individuals Saturday morning over a young woman. The victim said he went to the camp ground later that day and saw the same individuals.

Pemberton says one of those people punched him in the face, followed by several others attacking him with a pipe and other objects. Pemberton said he was then tied to a chair and beaten until he passed out.

Police said Pemberton told them the suspects drove him to Missouri Baptist Hospital and threw him out of the vehicle by the emergency room.

Deputies are still trying to locate and interview the suspects.
