St. Louis (KSDK) - Some people in downtown St. Louis are still not getting their mail and the problem has gone from bad to worse.

Some residents of the Locust Loft District say their postal carrier sometimes refuses to deliver mail and other times delivers important letters and packages to the wrong address.

5 on Your Side first brought you this story in April when the Post Office promised they were taking care of the problem. But on Wednesday the manager of the Leather Trades Artist Lofts presented copies of dozens of letters that are still being misdelivered. And residents say they haven't seen any improvement.

"I haven't gotten any valuable mail literally in the past two weeks," said Ashley Myers. "I'm missing paychecks, some important packages and a letter from my grandpa."

"It takes a toll on finances as well as personally having to deal with it. You shouldn't have to track down your mail when it's supposed to be delivered to you," said Angelia Young.

Post Office manager Stevon Brown told 5 on Your Side he's now getting personally involved with the troublesome carrier, but it's an internal matter that he can't discuss.

"I understand their frustrations, I really do," said Brown. "There are some things with the unions that we can't really divulge or publicize. But there are some actions being taken."

Brown could not say when an internal investigation would be complete.

5 on Your Side will be following this story until the problems are resolved.
