Valley Park, MO (KSDK) - The mayor of Valley Park has resigned.
Alderwoman Rita Collins confirmed Thursday night Mayor Nathan Grellner resigned in a special meeting with an interim city attorney before the Board of Aldermen meeting and signed the proper documents for his resignation.
City Attorney Eric Martin was temporarily removed at a previous meeting, and replaced by an interim city attorney.
Grellner, 27, did not attend the Board of Aldermen meeting, and did not comment on the situation.
Grellner was arrested for DWI in Jefferson County earlier this year, and prior to his arrest missed several board meetings. The St. Louis County Police Department is also looking into accusations Grellner used city funds for personal purchases.
