St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- The Todd Akin campaign is all a stir following comments made today by the chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Reince Priebus, the GOP chairman, said on video that Akin could be tied with McCaskill and they still wouldn't support his campaign. Priebus said, "he could be tied. We're not going to send him a penny."
Perry Akin, manager of the Akin campaign, released the following statement in response today:
"Reince Priebus' comments are extremely disappointing. He claims the mantle of freedom, liberty and the good of America, but this betrays his apparent personal vendetta against Todd Akin. He is putting party power and political games ahead of the good of the country."
Akin has been under fire from critics and politicians across the country the past week following a comment he made about rape and pregnancy during an interview. Akin has since apologized.
