(KWTX) - A Texas man was reportedly trying to help cure a friend's case of the hiccups, but police say the Fort Hood soldier's efforts went terribly wrong.
Police say the men were drinking alcohol and watching football on Sunday night, when Private First Class Isaac Young got the hiccups.
That's when Private First Class Patrick Myers allegedly held a gun to Young's head, in an effort to scare the hiccups away.
The arrest report says Myers thought the gun was loaded with dummy rounds when he pointed the gun at his friend. But when the gun went off, a real bullet hit Young in the face.
Young, a native of Ash Grove, Missouri, died on the way to the hospital.
Myers has been charged with manslaughter in the incident.
His bond is set at $1 million.
