St. Louis (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against a man accused of killing a St. Louis County Police Department employee.
Hosie Taylor, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder of 51-year-old Deirdre Exum.
Exum was found dead inside her apartment on Chesapeake Drive in St. Louis County around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Firefighters had been called to a two-alarm fire at her residence and found the body of Exum, who had been beaten and strangled to death before the fire.
A witness saw Taylor exiting Exum's home during the time of the fire and Exum's blood was found in Taylor's car.
The relationship between Exum and Taylor has not been disclosed.
Taylor is held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
