St. Louis County, Mo (KSDK) -- Lane closures due to the Blanchette Bridge construction project begin Friday night.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close three lanes on westbound I-70 at the Earth City Expressway/Route 141 from 8 p.m. October 26 until 5:00 a.m. October 28. Two westbound lanes will be kept open during the weekend.
The ramps at the Earth City Expressway/Route 141 and westbound I-70 will also be closed during the same time period.
The ramp from southbound I-270 to westbound I-270 will be closed at 10 p.m. October 26 for several hours overnight.
Drivers are advised to use I-270 to either Route 370 or Route 364 to access Earth City Expressway/Route 141.
During the weekend construction project, crews will be restriping the westbound I-70 lanes and putting in a barrier wall to separate the through lanes of I-70 with the exit lanes of Earth City in preparation for the Missouri River bridge closure starting the first weekend in November.
On October 29, westbound I-70 will be reduced from five lanes to four lanes. Drivers should consider using Route 370 or Route 364 as alternate westbound Missouri River crossings.
The Blanchette Brige will close the weekend of November 2-4 and will remain closed until the fall of 2013.
