St. Louis ( KSDK ) -- Students, staff, and members of the community, including some familiar faces, were busy Saturday making a difference at Northwest Academy of Law.
The school won KSDK's five thousand dollar "Make a Difference Day" grant by receiving the most votes from viewers. NewsChannel 5's Art Holliday and other members of the KSDK team showed up to help celebrate.
It was a well-needed boost for Northwest. In August, a favorite alumnus, alderman Gregory Carter, was killed in an interstate crash. Northwest Academy of Law is now beautifying its gym in honor of Carter, a former basketball player at the school. Once the gym is complete, the school will hold a special dedication ceremony in Carter's honor.
