St. Louis ( KSDK ) -- The first cancellations are being posted on the flight boards at Lambert St. Louis international airport, as Hurricane Sandy bears down on the east coast of the United States.

NewsChannel 5 found an American Airlines flight and a Delta flight, both to New York City, cancelled by 5 p.m.  A United flight to Newark, New Jersey, also was scrubbed.

The Federal Aviation Administration flight delay web site indicates flights to Philadelphia International Airport are currently running two hours late.
