St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, fresh off of announcing President Obama's re-election Tuesday night, went after real estate mogul and reality show star Donald Trump for some unsavory tweets about those election results.

Trump, who long questioned President Obama's legal legitimacy by calling for his birth certificate, called for a "revolution" after the election was called in the president's favor.

"We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!" Trump tweeted. He went on to call the result "a total sham and a travesty."

All told, Trump issued eight tweets about the election results; tweets that he later removed from his account.

Brian Williams, appearing tired from the non-stop election night coverage, showed little patience for Trump's assertions.

"Donald Trump, who has driven well past the last exit to relevance and veered into something closer to irresponsible here, is tweeting tonight," Williams said.

Not to be upstaged by Brian Williams, Trump fired back Wednesday afternoon with a Twitter tirade aimed at the newsman.
