St. Louis (KSDK) -- Picketers are set up outside the Hostess Bakery facility in north St. Louis.
They have joined the more than 6,000 members of the Baker's Union that are on strike at 36 plants nationwide.
The strike began Friday after Hostess in its bankruptcy filings declared it needed to diminish health benefits, freeze pensions and cut wages by some eight-percent.
Local workers told NewsChannel 5's Steve Patterson they have already had to deal with cutback and they plan to hold the line as long as they can.
There are 18,000 Hostess employees across the country.
