Man escapes MSHP troopers after attempted traffic stop

WARREN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A man escaped law enforcement Thursday afternoon after a trooper attempted to pull him over on a traffic violation.

Sgt. Al Nothum with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says around 3 p.m. a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at North Highway 47 and Rock Church Road in Warren County, Missouri.

The suspect did not stop and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit the suspect's vehicle stopped suddenly, and the trooper rear-ended the vehicle.

After the accident, the suspect jumped out of the car and fled on foot.

A passenger remained in the vehicle and was taken into police custody.

Officers searched the area for four hours but the suspect was not found.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
