ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Louis County police are investigating after an officer shot a suspect in north St. Louis County.
Police say they received a call at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday about a suspicious man who may have been looking into homes on Lilac.
An officer arrived on the scene and began speaking to the suspect, and the conversation quickly escalated.
The suspect pulled a gun on the officer, and the officer then grabbed the suspect's arm, pulled out his own gun, and fired one shot at the suspect.
Authorities say the suspect was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It is unknown why the man was doing in that area, but police say he does not live far away.
Police say the suspect was wanted for first-degree assault, but his name has not been released.
