ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Louis police are continuing to question witnesses and a shooting victim Friday after getting several different stories about what unfolded Thursday night, prior to a man being shot.

Authorities responded to a home in the 3200 block of Delor around 11:05 p.m., where a man living there told officers he was answering the front door when three men, one armed with a rifle struck him in the head with the weapon.

The three men then barged inside the home and stole several pieces of the victims property.

The victim told police he broke free and the man with the gun shot him once in the buttocks before all three of the intruders fled the scene.

Detectives questioned several witnesses, all of whom provided conflicting details in their description of what occurred.

No names released at the time and the investigation will continue.  The man shot is reported to be in stable condition at an area hospital.
