CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW/CNN) - A woman was seriously hurt after a bizarre incident at a strip club in Cleveland.
The 911 call came from inside Christie's Cabaret on the West Bank of the Flats shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
One of the dancers fell over a balcony while giving a lap dance and is critically injured.
Police say the dancer is 22-year-old Lauren Block from Richmond Heights. According to the police report, a man on scene told police that they were on the second floor and he was receiving a lap dance from the victim. He stated that she grabbed the rail as he was facing away from the balcony and she tried to complete some sort of jump or dance move.
Block recently worked at The Tilted Kilt in downtown Cleveland.
"She was always in a good mood every time I saw her," said server Ashley Roach.
Roach worked with Block and also once worked at Christie's. She's baffled as to how her friend could have fallen over the railing.
"It's mind boggling honesty, 'cause I never, you never heard about that, you hear about girls falling off the polls because they don't grab hard enough, those are just common things, but not over a railing," she said.
Cleveland police say this appears to be an accident.
While police say their investigation is over, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or "OSHA" says it will look into the incident.
