ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Louis Board of Aldermen voted to put a sales tax increase on the April ballot.
The tax would help pay for the planned $553 million overhaul of the Arch grounds and area parks.
For it to go into effect, voters in St. Louis or St. Charles counties would eventually have to approve the measure.
The St. Louis County Council has already given preliminary approval. However, a recent St. Louis Post-Dispatch poll found a majority of St. Charles County council members are against it.
