Visit Scotland's newest tourism ambassadors: sweater-wearing Shetlands named Fivla and Vitamin(Photo: Rob McDougall)

Move over, Macallan.
While single malt distilleries and kilt-clad bagpipers still entice their share of Scotland visitors, the country's tourism board is making social media hay with its latest ambassadors: two adorable Shetland ponies wearing Fair Isle sweaters.
The shaggy starlets, Fivla and Vitamin, are part of VisitScotland's new "Year of Natural Scotland" campaign (never mind that "pony-sized cardigans" would seem to be anything but).
Of course, Fivla and Vitamin aren't the only cute animals to be used as tourist bait.
Paul Hogan and his shrimp-laden barbies notwithstanding, cuddly koalas have drawn plenty of visitors to Australia. New Zealand has its sheep, cuddly and otherwise. And during last summer's Olympic Games, 50 London black cabs were transformed into rolling advertisements for Chengdu, China, home to most of the world's giant pandas.
So, what's your verdict? Would these sweater-wearing Shetlands lure you to Scotland?
