Eldren J. Staten charged in East St. Louis delivery driver robbery

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - An East St. Louis man has been charged after robbing a pizza delivery driver over the weekend.

Eldren J. Staten, 18, of East St. Louis is charged with theft from a person, a class 3 felony.

St. Clair County Deputies were called to the 2400 block of State Street in East St. Louis regarding the robbery of an Imo's Pizza delivery driver.

The delivery driver told police that upon delivery to an address in the 2900 block of Trendly Ave., a man exited a Chrysler PT Cruiser and took the food out of the employee's hands, returned to the car and drove away.

A short time later, deputies were able to locate the suspect's vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Staten was taken into custody and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
