ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Sirens sounded around Missouri Monday to kick off Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The National Weather Service, the State Emergency Management Agency, and Missouri's local emergency management offices urge the public to use this week to plan for the severe weather season.
The sirens will sound again on Tuesday, March 5 at 1:30 p.m. for the statewide tornado drill.
Each day of the week will be dedicated to a different severe weather topic. Monday is preparedness, Tuesday is tornado safety, Wednesday is flash flood awareness, Thursday is severe thunderstorm day, and Friday is NOAA weather radio day.
