ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Area roads remain wet, partially snow covered, and in many cases slick.  Those conditions are partially to blame for a number of accidents around the metropolitan St. Louis area.

Police responded to accident scenes in south St. Louis County twice in just a matter of minutes early Monday.  One of the incidents was on northbound I-55 where a motorist lost control and slammed into some road signs near the Loughborough exit ramp.

Minutes later, another vehicle went out of control on southbound I-55 at Weber Road and crashed.  Neither of those accidents had any serious injuries.

Late Monday morning, an accident on southbound I-270 near Missouri Bottom Road forced closure of all traffic lanes for a time.  That incident involves a jack-knifed tractor trailer unit.

Another accident, with injuries, was reported after 5:00 a.m. Monday on eastbound I-270 at Highway 367 in north St. Louis County.

Check road conditions before you head out.  In Missouri call 1-800-220-6400.  In Illinois, call 1-800-452-4368.
