ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A Saint Louis Public School District high school employee has been placed on leave of absence after allegations of misconduct.
A spokesperson for the district says the employee works at Soldan International Studies High School and was immediately placed on leave when the allegations surfaced.
The nature of the allegations, name of the employee, and the employee's position at the school has not been released.
Students say it is a male teacher that has been placed on leave and they tell NewsChannel 5 that he is a great teacher.
"He's a cool teacher, he's a funny teacher, he's one of those that teaches what he has to teach, but he also gets straight to the point and he's funny with it," said a student. "So like if you need help he will try to make a song or something like that."
Parents say they need more information on the incident.
"You just have to have proof or some kind of evidence before you can just take the guy's future out of his hands," said a student's guardian Thomas Hurt.
The district has contacted police and the Missouri Division of Family Services and says they will respond in accordance with policy and law to protect students.
