ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - An investigation is underway at Hazelwood East High School.

NewsChannel 5 has been receiving reports of possible staff misconduct at last Friday's senior prom.

School administrators say there's an internal investigation involving a "personnel matter" stemming from the school dance. The investigation started Monday, following reports of an incident.

The Hazelwood East prom was held at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel. Following that event is when we started hearing about possible lewd behavior.

School officials confirm they've been receiving the same complaints and say they are trying to get to the bottom of it before announcing any possible action.

NewsChannel 5's Steve Patterson spoke to the superintendent by phone.

"This is a personal matter, as Ingrid said Steve, and we are continuing to investigate it. We're looking into this situation. Dr. Clark Jackson has been investigating this situation since Monday and she will continue to investigate the situation until all of the facts are discovered," said Superintendent Dr. Grayling Tobias.

The official word is that it is early in the investigation and that if action is taken, that information will be made available.

In the meantime, this is a developing story. We have sources close to the matter and we'll let you know when we learn more.
