ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Blues have traded David Perron for 22-year-old Magnus Paajarvi, who was Edmonton's first round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

"Magnus is a well-rounded player who has good size and great skating ability," said Armstrong. "He is just coming into his own and this will open up more ice time for Jaden (Schwartz) and Vladimir (Tarasenko). I would like to thank David for his time in St. Louis and wish him well in Edmonton."

Paajarvi had 16 points last year in 42 games. He also had a hat trick in his first NHL preseason game in 2010.
