ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Police have recovered the vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run accident in unincorporated Cahokia, Ill.

The vehicle was recovered Tuesday morning on Laclede's Landing in St. Louis. Authorities say they are looking for a 17-year-old male person of interest.

Nine-year-old Fabian Teson was struck by the vehicle around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Lorraine Drive near the intersection of Judith.

Teson was taken to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center where he died on Saturday.

St. Clair County Sheriff Richard Watson says 17-year-old Kevin Powell is a person of interest in the case. He wants Powell to come forward and answer any questions, even if he was not involved in the accident.

"I think he's one of these kids that jus, he's troubled. And he's at the aunt's house, the mother's house. He's just one of those kids that maybe is a little bit troubled and needs some direction," said Sheriff Watson.

Teson will be buried by his family on Thursday.

The Teson family is having difficulties paying for the funeral. Donations can be made to Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia, Ill.
